We are happy to welcome you to the European Syria Institute, a new space for critical thinking, policy dialogue, and practical engagement on the future of Syria.
Founded on the belief that knowledge, dialogue, and collaboration are essential to shaping a peaceful and just future, the European Syria Institute is a non-partisan think tank committed to advancing understanding and supporting locally grounded solutions for Syria’s development and recovery. We bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community voices to explore the complex dynamics at play in Syrian society, regional politics, and Europe’s evolving role.
Our work focuses on a range of issues, including:
- Local governance and development: Supporting inclusive, sustainable and accountable systems at the community level.
- Humanitarian and reconstruction efforts: Engaging with the realities of aid delivery, the lifting of sanctions, reconstruction policies and resilience building.
- Peacebuilding and reconciliation: Promoting dialogue and social cohesion in the wake of conflict.
- European-Syrian relations: Examining Europe’s policies and partnerships with Syrian actors, both within Syria and across the diaspora.
As we launch this platform, we aim to serve as both a resource and a meeting point. Through research, commentary, events, and collaborations, we seek to foster informed debate and amplify diverse perspectives, especially those rooted in local Syrian experiences.
Whether you are a policymaker, journalist, researcher, activist, or simply someone invested in Syria’s future, we invite you to explore our work, join the conversation, and partner with us in building knowledge that matters.
Stay tuned for upcoming publications, events, and opportunities to get involved.
